Enlightenment Stupa

The Enlightenment Stupa in Benalmádena, built on a panoramic platform overlooking the Costa del Sol, was inaugurated on October 5th, 2003, with the consecration ceremony conducted by the 14th Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche.

Enlightenment Stupa

The Stupa is 33 metres tall and has a base width of 25.8 metres. Unlike most Stupas, this one contains a 100 square metre meditation hall. From the ceiling of the meditation hall to the top, the Stupa is completely filled with sacred objects. These treasure chambers are sealed forever.

A total of 19 Stupas were built throughout Europe, this one being the largest in the West.
