Walked for several miles down almost deserted beaches near Gunjur village. Lots of sand, seashells of all sizes, hundreds of sea birds and, naturally, the odd cow or two. It is a foregone conclusion that you will see at least one cow when you go to the beach.
The beaches stretch for miles, and miles….and miles in this neck of the woods and, unlike in Senegambia further north, are more likely to be occupied by fishermen than sunbathers.
Our trip took us past one fishing area with the brightly painted boats and, as all trips should, ended up with a cold beer or two at a beachside lodge.
