It was only going to be a tapas stop at Chiringuito Sirena on the promenade at Torre del Mar (right by the lighthouse) but a look at the menu and it all changed and a full lunch became the order of the day.
Lots of fish dishes, as you might expect, with many of them being cooked on in the ‘boat’.
Although the fish on the BBQ Boat looked very tempting, I was drawn towards an Argentinian steak and in the end couldn’t resist! Melt in the mouth, superbly cooked, so full of taste…Hard to think where I have ever had a better steak, it was just soooo good.
During the meal we had no fewer than 10 bag/jewellery/sunglasses sellers visit our table, an unfortunate ‘norm’ on the Costa del Sol these days. At least they do depart as soon as you politely say ‘no thanks’, it’s just the sheer volume that gets a bit tiring, especially when they arrive one after another and selling exactly the same things.
Plenty of wild Parakeets about at the moment.
