The Santa Maria delle Grazie – Holy Mary of Grace – is a church and Dominican convent in Milan, Italy, and the church contains the mural of The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci.
The church was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980 and classified as: Church and Dominican Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie with “The Last Supper” by Leonardo da Vinci.
The building was started in 1463 and completed in 1497, with architects Guiniforte Solari and Donato Bramante worked on the project.
Architecturally speaking, the Nave is Gothic and the Apse and Dome are Renaissance style.
Much of the refectory was destroyed by Allied bombing on August 15th 1943, but fortunately the wall containing The Last Supper survived.
