The second part of the Pinocchio restaurant, a sort of annex I suppose, is located below the California restaurant on calle Cristo. It was used as a substitute restaurant when the original Pinocchio underwent a total renovation and, I assume, it became so popular that they decided to keep two premises.
Calle El Barrio 48, Nerja, (in the alley towards the Avda Castilla Perez end of the street) has been home to countless bars and restaurants over the years, none lasting very long. The latest incarnation, after a refurbishment, is the Sahara Lounge Moroccan Restaurant.
Salvador bakery on calle San miguel, Nerja – home of the tastiest and best value croissants in town – always have an array of delicious looking cakes and pastries but, for some reason far beyond the comprehension of man. I had never sampled their delights. Until today, that is, when I decided this unfathomable oversight warranted immediate correction.
The Menu del Día – Daily Menu – is a relatively inexpensive way of ettin a two or three course meal and is offered in many bars and restaurants. There is a choice of starters, main courses and desserts. The portions are generally, but not always, slightly smaller than f you were choosing from the standard menu, naturally, to keep the price down.
Cafe El Barrio in calle El Barrio, Nerja, has been quite a popular little bar ever since it opened, attracting a lot of passing trade as well as regulars for breakfasts, tapas or larger meals. It s quite a small bar area but has a reasonable sized terrace on the street, sheltered during inclement weather.
I am not particularly keen on phone keyboards – or to be more accurate, I’m more than a little on the slow and hopeless side with them – which normally means messages, descriptions etc, tend to be short or confined to a smiley face…or even nothing. I much prefer a proper keyboard, at which I am much quicker and accurate, despite only using a couple of fingers and a toe.
Very civilised, a pot of tea (now with cosy) and a slice of delicious chocolate cake at Good Stuff on the corner of calle San Miguel and avenida Castilla Perez in Nerja.
Nine o’clock on Sunday evenng and El Pulguilla on calle Cristo, Nerja, was pretty full. The bar area was packed and almost all the tables on both terraces were full. I would imagine around 90 to 100 tables, but don’t quote me.
On the last evening of the visit of David and Linda we decided upon Maria Bonita in Plaza Fabrica de los Cangrejos, always good, always huge portions yet reasonably priced. It did not disappoint.
Namaste is a fairly new Nepalese and Indian restaurant on calle Cristo so we decided to pay it a visit as we are all fond of such cuisine.
