I was in Plaza Cantarero and decided to take a few shots of the fountain. Shortly after I took the pics the fountain was turned off, quite lucky really.
It is all very hot at the moment, Spain in the grip of a heatwave, with little or no wind to move the air about. Even just thinking about doing nothing has been an exhausting endeavour.
There are drinking fountains scattered all over Nerja, as one might expect considering the climate,and some of them are quite ornate.
One of the most iconic fountains in Europe must be the Jet d’Eau on Lake Geneva, Switzerland. Amazing when you consider that the first jet was merely a safety valve for a hydraulic water network.
