Sunday saw the holding of the 61st Carrera Urbana Feria de Nerja ‘Trofeo Juan Carlos Salcedo’ (road race) and the 33rd Trofeo Marcha Villa de Nerja ‘Memorial Tomás Santaolalla’ (walking race), attracting both a large number of entries and a host of spectators.
Running and racing was the order of the day today in the build-up to Nerja Feria 2017. Runners and walkers of all ages took part in the event.
I turned the corner and there was Lola out for a stroll. A very friendly, albeit large, piggy who enjoys her walks and she responds to her name, running (or waddling) back to her owner when he calls her.
Nice smooth, creamy and very tasty chocolate cake with a cherry on top, washed down with a coffee at Salvador on calle San Miguel, Nerja. Just €2.75.
A few moggies down by the non-existent river, including a group of kittens in one of the small farms/orchards although they were in deep shade so no photos of them this time.
A longer Nerja Feria this year, running from October 7th to 12th 2017, with the Gala and Election of the Feria Queen on the 7th and performances by La Húngara (8th), Semper Asi (9th), Demarco Flamenco (10th), Andy & Lucas (11th) and Los Soles (12th).
It was only going to be a tapas stop at Chiringuito Sirena on the promenade at Torre del Mar (right by the lighthouse) but a look at the menu and it all changed and a full lunch became the order of the day.
Can’t get bored with being bitten to pieces by mosquitoes. I don’t think there are that many of them about but those that are seem to have a voracious appetite. Slightly cooler now…at times.
Bar El Pescaito de Nicolas is located at number 45 on avenida Juan XXIII in Málaga and to say it has become a popular little tapas hotspot would be somewhat of an understatement.
Ryanair always seems to be tinkering with policies or coming up with new ideas, good and bad. This time it is hand luggage…again.
