The financial crisis may have resulted in nearly 13 million people – 27.3% of the population – becoming at risk of poverty or social exclusion, but during the same period, the number of millionaires has reportedly risen by 40%.

This relates to people who have over one million dollars to their name excluding their primary residence or consumer goods.
