Tape Arte on avenida Castilla Perez has fallen by the wayside, although it did last a fair old time – relatively speaking. The trees in Plaza Cavana, Nerja, in keeping with those in much of the rest of the town, have undergone a slight trim.
After several years – nothing happens swiftly in Spain, of course – it looks like they are finally moving again on the project to build a couple of small footbridges across the rio Chillar the rio Seco. The project is costing €219,000 and is being carried out by the provincial authorities as they want to finish the ‘Coastal Walk’ from Manilva to Nerja. Everywhere else is complete I believe, just a few things to be done in Nerja.
February 28th is Andalucia Day, a public holiday, and also Day of the Bicycle, a time to dawdle round town on two wheels in a non-competetive event (for most). It starts on the Balcón de Europa and the route is: Plaza Cavana, Diputación, Castilla Pérez, Avenida Mediterráneo, Antonio Ferrándis and Prolongación Antonio Millón, where there is the first rest stop.
Onward along calle Chaparil and calle Almería then a second break at the Supersol roundabout.
The fun continues along calles San Miguel, Alejandro Bueno, Herrera Oria, Ruperto Andúez, Torrox and Rodríguez Acosta before another pause at the Parador de Nerja.
The final leg is along calle Carabeo and calle Pintada down to the finish on the Paseo Balcón de Europa.
