Sunday was hot with little wind and almost calm seas – so no more excuses for not starting the repairs to the ruptured sewage pipe off Torrecilla beach. Being calm, the sea was actually very clear by the beaches which was a big change from last week.
However, a bit of an odd decision not to publicise the issue and neither warn bathers nor prevent swimming because it was not ‘high season’. After all, there were people swimming in and around the grossness. Hopefully no-one got ill as a result of this bizarre approach. If there were sharks cruising the shore would they say, ‘that’s ok, there’s only a few people in the water, not worth bothering’?
New Allsorts (at the junction of calle Carabeo and calle Cristo) is up for sale. Not long since the place was renovated.
Every few months we get to hear about all the projects to be carried out in the municipality, often with funding already available. One of these is replacing the bell in the Ermita after the exiting one was damaged and fell from its perch during bad weather a couple of years ago. Wonder when they will start?
November 2015 was when it was announced that the Puente Viejo was going to be resurfaced following a poll of the local citizenry. No sign yet.
