After some light overnight rain, Sunday was quite warm but very windy at times. There were a lot of people about in the centre of Nerja, including a couple of large tour groups. The palm trees were getting quite a buffeting.
No-one actually swimming, which was quite understandable. Just off Burriana beach, a large flock of gulls had gathered and were bobbing about on the water.
It is reported that Larios, owners of much land in and around Nerja and Maro, are looking to have some of their land reclassified in order to build 680 houses, with a golf course attached, as well as possibly convert the old sugar factory into a hotel.Residents of Maro have apparently already begun to form a group opposing such a plan.
Down the coast in Torre del Mar they are talking about resurrecting the ill-conceived, poorly thought-out, loss-making and disastrous tram system by the end of the year. More taxpayer money down the drain.
Looks like a giant asparagus.
