Balcon de Europa, Nerja

Sometimes the logic is hard to find, let alone follow. It was a fairly hot midday on the Balcón de Europa in Nerja when Officer Shakey McShakeyhead appeared on the scene and shook his head at the girl quietly bending wire into interesting objects of various kinds. She has been around for quite a while, never bothers anyone and clears up when she’s finished, but on this occasion she was turfed away.

Had she been sitting with a begging bowl, bothering people for money for booze or hawking bags, shoes or jewellery, no doubt she would have been okay. But she wasn’t, she was just getting on with her art – which is good, by the way – and not bothering anyone.

Of course, the other side of the argument is that she is making the odd euro without paying a local ‘tax’ to do so. But so are the zillion in-your-face bag/shoe/jewellery sellers – no such thing as a relaxing meal/cup of coffee when they are around So, no apparent logic but that’s life.

It did look very much like the Local Police were wearing their recently acquired bullet-proof jackets. Could be mistaken, but it certainly looked like it. New toys I suppose, we’re all the same. It did look from various actions, however, that they may not be the most comfortable everyday attire
