I think there are less Christmas lights this year – Plaza Cavana, for one, is devoid this year – but those that are up do seem to be a bit better quality than in previous years. Difficult choice I suppose, quality or quantity, especially as money is (supposed to be) tight.
Santa made his rounds, his helpers using the normal amount of lethal force as they hurled boiled sweets from the floats.
On Christmas Eve evening there was very little happening on the Balcón de Europa and one Santa-clad busker began playing, and singing carols. Suddenly, he was surrounded by quite an enthusiastic crowd of people, all joining in and applauding, and filling his hat. Kudos.
