The earth moved quite violently in the early hours of this morning, a quake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale being felt throughout Málaga province. It had to be quite large to wake ME!
Things began to shake and rattle at 05:22 with the first tremor measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale. This was followed a while later by one measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale.
The epicentre was in the Mar de Alborán between Alhucemas and Melilla, the same area as the previous 4.8 tremor here on January 21st. Today’s quake was the most severe in the province for a decade and there are reports of some minor damage.
