The EU flag on the Town Hall in Nerja has been lowered and will remain down until Monday as a local protest against the EU migrant deal with Turkey.

From what one sees, hears or reads, it seems to be about the only action carried out by the uneasy government coalition since it was formed after the last elections to remove the winning party from office.

Most of the time and energy appears to have been spent on internal party politics, squabbles and staying in power rather than on anything concrete. Maybe not a bad thing in many ways. After all, the country as a whole has been without an effective government since the elections in December, but if you didn’t listen to or read the news, you wouldn’t know or notice any difference.
