There is a new attraction in Nerja, at the Nerja Caves to be precise, as the jardín botánico Detunda-Cueva de Nerja (Detunda Botanical Garden) has finally opened to the public, a mere three years after its completion.

The 26,000 square metre botanical garden, built at a cost of over three million euros, contains around 200 species found in the mountains of Málaga and Granada provinces including orchids and some rare specimens. The gardens can be visited Tuesday to Sunday between 09:00 and 15:00 and entrance is currently free.
