A couple of days in the UK and good to see the usual suspects on the pond in Woodford Park, Woodley – Swans, Canada Geese, my favourite Mallards, Black-headed Gulls and Moorhens. Plus all those beautiful Red Kites soaring effortlessly overhead, often very low.
A short break in the UK but only managed a brief safari – otherwise known as a trip to the park – to see the quackers and other birdies. There were some nice Pied Wagtails, Motacilla alba.
A few different things to start with, first up being the reflections of Mallards on the calm waters of the pond.
Mallards have always been one of my favourite ducks. They come in all shapes, sizes and colourings and, to me at least, seem to project a sort of ‘personality’, so always fun to be around. Plenty of them at the pond, including one with the weird tuft on its head.
