Herring Gulls

Herring Gulls (Larus argentatus) are big and noisy and often regarded as a nuisance in towns but I like watching them on the lakes.  There are quite a few at Southlake at the moment, some adult, some first year and some second year.  These photos show the difference in their looks depending on age – basically the more grey, the older they are (a bit like humans !)
