Goosander

The Goosander (Mergus merganser) or common Merganser is a shy duck with a long serrated hooked bill for grasping fish.  In my area, you see small groups on a couple of local lakes in the winter.  Today I watched one diving, appearing quite a distance from where it started and then I watched a group of mixed males and females squabbling.
