El Rinconcito is located at the junction of avenida Castilla Perez and calle Málaga in Nerja, just before you get to the Plaza Fabrica de los Cangrejos, and has an ample, covered terrace. The interior of the bar itself is quite small.
The Menu del Día is a relatively inexpensive way of having a three course meal and is offered by most retaurants and caeterias. At El Rinconcito is a choice of three items for each course and I went for Cazuela de marisco – a fish soup, filete de ternera – beefsteak, and for dessert I had their home-made cheesecake.
The fish soup, with numerous prawns, shellfish and noodles, was very good indeed.
The main was simply meat and chips. Tender, quite rare (red) inside (they didn’t ask how one wished it to be cooked). Simple fare. Tasty though.
The list of desserts began with chocolate mousse, so I was immediately hooked. However, the waiter returned to say there was no mousse. I then opted for the cheesecake and it turned out to be excellent, absolutely delicious. Not quite what I had expected, but deelicious.
The Menu del Dia at El Rinconcito costs €8.90.
The Food: Simple but good
