Churros are a fried dough pastry snack, very often a breakfast item. Churros are popular in Spain, where they are often dipped in coffee or hot chocolate, and in France, the Philippines, Portugal, Ibero-America and the South-western United States.
A new ‘churreria’ has just opened in Nerja, Churreria La Rueda in calle San Miguel. I haven’t tried it yet, but will do shortly.
However, I gave sampled some delightful churros at a kiosk near the Iranzo supermarket on avenida de Pescia – invariably a queue, which is a good sign – and also at Bar Colorao in Plaza de la Ermita.
