Wally was in Plaza Cavana today. Wondering whether this is a temporary aberration or it is actually returning again after several years. I believe licensing/concession fee issues were the reason it stopped last time.
A bit of entertainment in Ronda.
A QuickVid on and around the Balcón de Europa on Sunday afternoon.
Sea mists roll in pretty quickly and this morning was no exception.
Running and racing was the order of the day today in the build-up to Nerja Feria 2017. Runners and walkers of all ages took part in the event.
Strolling down to the Balcón de Europa I fully expected to find that the ‘love lock’ I noticed the other day had been removed. Quite the opposite, there were two more on the railings!
Thursday was a bit overcast with quite a stiff, cooling breeze at times, a welcome change from the oppressive heat of the past few weeks. The sea was quite rough and there were bits of red cloth on poles fluttering in the wind at the beaches, although no-one appeared to be taking any notice of them.
It started with one guy, then became a duo when his regular partner arrived and finally became a band when members of the public joined in for a few songs. They gathered a good crowd and hopefully made a few bob into the bargain.
The bridge into town, Puente Viejo, is now expected to reopen at the end of June, a couple of weeks later than first announced. More work – another two months worth – is now reportedly going to be carried out on the bridge but, hopefully, this will not involve closures as this would bite right into the main summer holiday period. Unless it gets postponed, of course, as so often happens.
A short video of the head of the San Isidro procession as it arrived at Plaza Cantarero in Nerja.
