Thursday was a bit overcast with quite a stiff, cooling breeze at times, a welcome change from the oppressive heat of the past few weeks. The sea was quite rough and there were bits of red cloth on poles fluttering in the wind at the beaches, although no-one appeared to be taking any notice of them.
It started with one guy, then became a duo when his regular partner arrived and finally became a band when members of the public joined in for a few songs. They gathered a good crowd and hopefully made a few bob into the bargain.
The bridge into town, Puente Viejo, is now expected to reopen at the end of June, a couple of weeks later than first announced. More work – another two months worth – is now reportedly going to be carried out on the bridge but, hopefully, this will not involve closures as this would bite right into the main summer holiday period. Unless it gets postponed, of course, as so often happens.
